Incorporating gender issues into EFL lessons

The purpose of this thesis is to design, implement and evaluate lessons oriented towards gender issues. The theoretical part of this thesis introduces the topic of gender and places it in the school context. It addresses gender-sensitive education and the courses of action by which gender issues can be integrated into teaching. Furthermore, this part deals with the methodology of content-based approaches. Finally, it presents the lesson planning process based on the Six-Ts method and lesson reflection using the ALACT model. The practical part consists of planning sample lessons and designing students' worksheets, both oriented towards gender issues. The sample lessons were consequently piloted in Business Academy Heroldovy Sady. The evaluation of their progress is also included in this section, together with practical recommendations for similar lessons based on personal teaching experience. Lastly, the thesis notes that teachers of English and other foreign languages can raise awareness of gender issues in their lessons while developing students' language skills. The thesis is enriching as it finds solutions to integrate gender topics into English language teaching and provides examples of this practice. Bakalářská práce má za cíl představit přístup pedagogů výtvarné výchovy k plánování výuky a jejímu pojetí s ohledem na vztah základních didaktických kategorií k realitě. Ačkoliv je výtvarný pedagog vázán kurikulárními dokumenty, nedisponuje učebnicemi jako podklady pro přípravu vyučovacích hodin. Inspiraci tudíž čerpá z jiných zdrojů. V současné době nabývá na významu především platforma internetu, zejména sociálních sítí. Výzkumná část práce proto představí na základě kvalitativního etnografického výzkumu Facebook a jeho vybrané skupiny, které slouží především k inspiraci prostřednictvím sdílení vizuálního obsahu. Ukáže, jaké nápady na výtvarnou činnost se ve skupinách objevují a s jakou odezvou jsou přijímány. Otevřením problematiky tohoto fenoménu chce práce poukázat na možná rizika nekritického přijímání sdíleného obrazového materiálu, ale také na pozitiva, která v tomto kontextu současná doba přináší. Praktická část práce předkládá několik vybraných úkolů prezentovaných na sociálních sítích v autorském přepracování. The main object of this bachelor thesis is an integration concept of Industry 4.0 to branch of education Furniture and timbering production. This bachelor thesis should afford a basis of processing and integration this subject to school educational programme and afterwards to classwork as well. Along with this the final concept should serve as a basis of thematic plan definition and of teacher´s preparing for class. The bachelor theses contents theoretical definition of the basic concepts and information on given subject and afterwards its practical use on making concepts and solutions. Theoretical part is concerned with domains such as classwork scheduling, didactic analysis of curriculum and educational papers, especially with framework education programme and school education programme. It includes general definition of Industry 4.0 and its connection with education. Onto theoretical parts follows concepts for practical integration aforementioned subject into the secondary school education which should help teachers with process, preparation and teaching this topic. The very concept makes it possible to integrate this topic to school educational programme. The result of it is then a group of subjects and education results along with general educational purposes, curriculum characteristics, potential classwork implementation and so on. The concept is possible to use as a new school subject or it is possible to integrate single topics to several school subjects in the current curriculum. A part of the thesis is also its assessment, explanation of results and arisen issues and suggestions to their solutions. The bachelor theses contributes not only by its concept, but also by mentioning actual topic Industry 4.0. By the contents and results the theses call attention to consequence of this topic and its connection with education as well.
The organization of teaching pupils with special educational needs in the common class of primary school

The diploma thesis deals with the issue of inclusive education at ordinary primary school, in the practical part with education of these pupils at a common school of rural type. The aim of the theoretical part is clarification what the inclusive education means, what conditions the pupils with special educational needs need and what support operations are suitable for smooth integration into the collective and for their development. The aim of the practical part is with the help of observation, dialogues and own experience to analyze the success of the process of the inclusive education at a small primary school of rulal type with a capacity of approximately 150 pupils, eventually to find out shortcomings and conditions which are needed to resolve and improve in such a way that the teaching at that school is successful.
Work with a group of beginners in drama education

The diploma thesis focuses opening a world of drama education to a group of young learners who are unexperienced at DE. The theoretical part aims to prepare readers to understand a beginner class specifics same as working with aim planning for a particular group of students. In the practical part of the thesis I construct one semester plan of aims for concrete collective of students and assess if the plan was made appropriately, if the goals were achieved and what changes must have been done to adjust the plan to real conditions. Furthermore, the practical part offers tips of lessons and their reflections and it maps development of the study group. Overall aim of the thesis is to bring to a reader theoretical background of working with a DE class of beginners, plan of goals for concrete group and its fulfilling.
